Jeddah is one of the top importers, buying around 1.3 million tons annually. Jeddah has raised the quality standards for rice import tenders, but carrying out different quality assurance tests, it is not difficult to obtain perfect rice for Jeddah. Private sector imports of rice are growing rapidly in Jeddah. A number of private sector food importers are currently importing, promoting, and distributing Indian basmati rice in major Jeddah markets. Since end-September last year, Jeddah has purchased around 300,000 metric tons from India and another country in a series of tenders, subject to pre-shipment clearance of samples.
Premium quality rice in bulk quantities can be easily imported to Jeddah from India as there are all latest laboratories available in India to test rice for any standards applicable in the world at present. India exports almost 4 million tons of rice to different parts of the world and is the 4th largest exporters in the world.

• All empty containers are verified by SGS to make sure they are in excellent sea-worthy conditions.

• Name of produce. The name shall designate the type of rice (e.g. milled rice, husked rice, etc);
• Year of harvest;
• Net mass in kilograms;
• Country of origin and;
• Name and address of the producer or trader.

Should have at least 2 years remaining shelf life upon arrival in Jeddah.
